Mumbai Stamp Duty Rates 2026
Purchase — Male buyer: 6% stamp duty + 1% registration = 7% total
Purchase — Female buyer: 5% stamp duty + 1% registration = 6% total
Rent agreement: 0.25% of assessable amount + ₹1,000 registration
The 6%/5% includes the 1% Metro Cess levied by Maharashtra government. Women's concession applies only to residential properties with registration in woman's name as primary applicant.
